About Us

Our Affirmation of Faith

Section 1. The Word of God.

We believe the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

Section 2. The Trinity.

We believe there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons; equal in every divine perfection, and execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption.

Section 3. God the Father.

1) We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love.
2) We believe He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of all people, He hears and answers prayer, and He saves from sin and eternal condemnation all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

Section 4. God the Son.

1) We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit.
2) We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings.
3) We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, intercession for His people, and a visible return to earth.

Section 5. God the Holy Spirit.

1) We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. The Holy Spirit regenerates, sanctifies, and empowers all who believe in Jesus Christ.
2) We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and is an abiding helper, teacher and guide.

Section 6. Regeneration.

1) We believe all people are sinners by nature and are under condemnation.
2) We believe those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.

Section 7. The Church.

1) We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members.
2) We believe in the local church, consisting of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized upon a profession of faith, and united for worship, work, and fellowship.
3) We believe God commissioned members of the local church to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world.

Section 8. Christian Conduct.

We believe a Christian should live for the glory of God and the well being of others. Their conduct should be blameless before the world. They should be a faithful steward of their possessions. They should seek to realize for themselves and others the full stature of maturity in Christ.

Section 9. The Ordinances.

1) We believe the Lord Jesus Christ gave two ordinances to the local church; baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
2) We believe Christian baptism is the total immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
3) We believe the Lord’s Supper was established by Christ to remember His Death.
4) We believe these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Section 10. Religious Liberty.

We believe every born again (regenerate) human being has a direct relationship with God through Jesus Christ and is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith . Bethel Baptist Church is independent and free from interference by any outside authority.

Section 11. Church Cooperation.

1) We believe local churches can best promote the cause of Jesus Christ by cooperating with one another.
2) Participation in a conference is voluntary and may be terminated at any time.
3) Churches may likewise cooperate with interdenominational fellowships on a voluntary independent basis.

Section 12. The Last Things.

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom.
