Rushing to Judgment

In the biblical account of the Flood (Genesis 6-8), God is teaching us many things about himself, humanity, sin, grace, righteousness, faith, obedience and ultimate Judgment. Taken by itself, the text addresses all these issues, but only to a certain degree. A full exposition and conclusion regarding them cannot be arrived at until we see how the New Testament (especially Jesus) interprets these concepts. On interpreting what the Flood means to us today, one commentator says, “Our first path should be to follow the lead of the New Testament, which consistently indicates that the Flood should be a reminder to us of the reality of final judgment” (John H. Walton, The NIV Application Commentary, p. 333). Join us as pastor Don Ebel continues our series “Genesis: Starting for Home – The Coming Flood.”
